Ineffable Book Blog: The 2016 Austin Book Fest Overview!

The Austin Book Fest is an amazing opportunity for avid book fans to get in contact with some amazing authors both known and unknown. For the past three years, Vilma's Book Blog has put on this event and this year over 40 authors signed up to attend this amazing festival which puts together some amazing and wonderful favorites: Authors + Books + Cover models ;).

In My Place

So unfortunately I was out of town for a school event and instead of being there in person, I was there in spirit with the help of my handy-dandy Mom and Aunt who were willing to brave the crowds to go in my place!

They even went through the trouble (and completely behind my back without any knowledge) of creating this little sign with a picture of me and the logo of this blog. While I wasn't such a fan, according to the fam all the authors thought the sign was so great and probably had a good laugh... so thanks, I think.

The Author List

Here is a list of the authors who attended this book and as you may have noticed, there were quite a few headliners and just amazing authors who signed up to spend the weekend in Austin, Texas.

Because so many amazing authors were in attendance, the lines were ridiculously long (or so I heard) and for several authors there were bracelets given out in order to keep everything in line and organized. To give you an idea of the insanity, my mom, in order to see Colleen Hoover, had bracelet number 408....408!

The Lines!

In case you doubt me and think I exaggerate the sheer volume of fellow book lovers within this one event, here's a pic of the line just to get in the event! (side note: some of these people were waiting line at 5 in the morning!)

So there were lines to get in, lines to get bracelets for the authors, and lines to actually get books and then more lines to get those books signed by the author....

... so yeah, lots of lines!

Which makes me a little glad I wasn't stuck in those lines ;).
