Tour: Happily Ever Never ~ Jennifer Foor

Release Day: May 31

I was about to marry the man of my dreams.
We had it all; a life that most could only wish for. I felt like the luckiest woman in the world.
Then, in the blink of an eye, it was taken from me.
Now I can’t grasp how to move forward.
I don’t even think I want to.
Whether I’m dead or alive, my happily ever after is NEVER going to happen.

Review

"I wonder if people who've never lost someone can imagine the amount of pain it takes to bury the person you love."

Happily Ever Never is a heartbreaking book which will take you on a journey of love, happiness, and pain. This book was so jam packed with emotion that is was pretty overwhelming at some points in the book. There are just so many parts of this book that just hit on everything negative that can happen to a person. This book would be completely unreadable if it wasn't for all the snippets of hope and light. Let me tell you, be prepared to cry. Read this book while you are alone and won't have anyone judging you around. This is especially true for those of you who are criers during sad books or movies,

The author really did find the perfect balance of light and dark in this book. For instance, there would be a super sad and depressing part of the book, and then something good would pop up and suddenly the book didn't seem too terribly sad. It was this balance that made this book great and even amazing. Sometimes a good cry is needed and this is definitely the book for that. There was just so much in this book that left room for hope and just tore my heart to pieces and put it back together again.

The characters was another aspect of the book that made it amazing. Bailey was probably the most admirable character I have read about this year. She goes through what feels like the worst luck throughout the book, yet she perseveres. Hit with so much trouble, any other person would have just given up. The author did a really good job of making her character believable to the average person (or someone who didn't go through this situation). Bailey had her breakdowns and grief process, but then she had her strong moments where she really pulled through. Reading this book from her perspective was an experience you don't want to miss!

My only major problem with this book was the fact that I called the "love interest situation" from the moment I started the book. The character's relationship were a little too obvious for my liking but it isn't bad. Luckily even though I called the end result, I was definitely not expecting a lot of the events throughout the book. So while the plot might seem obvious at first, you will definitely be thrown a loop you might not have expected.

This book was amazingly complex. I loved how the author introduced the characters and the basic plot line. This will definitely be a book that I will be rereading whenever I need a more hopeful read than the average book!

"Where I thought my life was over, something beautiful had come out of it."

EXCERPT

It kept repeating in my head.
Major was gone forever.
His life was over.
We would never be married.
Having his children was out of the question.
I was alone, dependent on myself once again and it petrified me. I wanted him back, and I didn’t care how wrong that sounded. How was I to go on when all that I loved had been ripped away?
