My New Favorite Genre:

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've updated Ineffable Book Blog because school got kind of crazy and then Christmas... but I'm back and want to do a post on this new genre that I've discovered. It's kind of risqué and definitely might be an acquired taste but I've found so many amazing books and series in this genre that I'm super psyched to share it with you guys.

The new genre that has me salivating (sometimes literally) is Reverse Harem books. So hear me out about this... reverse harem is defined as books where the main character has three or more love interests. The most well-known example of this type of book is C.L. Stone's Ghost Bird and Scarab Beetle series. These also happen to be the books that got me into this genre and left me wanting more!!!  Here's my review of the first book in the Ghost Bird series just in case you want a more in-depth look of the book (follow this link).

I'm SO serious when I say that if you have no clue who C.L. Stone is or haven't read her books, you are missing out on some seriously good literature full of swoon-worthy guys! I've also been the type of reader who doesn't always like the triangle love stories that are so popular (e.g. Twilight). I find it so frustrating when a main character flip flops between two guys and drags out the drama on and on only to choose the guy that I definitely wouldn't have chosen because I liked the other guy more and thought she was going to go with him... obviously this is a very touchy subject for me.

But since I found these types of books so frustrating I didn't think the whole reverse harem thing would be any better because there are more guys involved and therefore there must be more drama and frustration. But no, it's like magic where the books are just better and the guys are better and the main characters are better and I'm just so in love with this genre.

I'm so in love with this genre I wanted to share it with all of you out there by giving you a list of Reverse Harem books that I love so that you can check them out for yourself! Looking for an intro to several different authors? A Reverse Harem Anthology recently released full of novels from top Reverse Harem authors called Falling for Them! I definitely recommend this for anyone who is looking for a sampling of several different authors! The only prerequisite for reading the anthology is Finding Honor by Ripley Proserpina as the second book is published in the anthology.
