What happens when you uncover years of secrets and find out everything you thought to be true was a lie?

Drew Stevens finds her world turned upside down when her parents are brutally murdered. Soon after, she learns she inherited a property in Bar Harbor, Maine, from recently deceased grandparents that she believed had died when she was a baby.
Drew travels north to settle her grandparents’ estate, but finds more questions than answers as the truth starts unraveling. What she didn’t expect to find was Saint, whose reputation is as tumultuous as his past. But the very thing that brings them together is the same thing that keeps them emotionally caged.

With Saint's scars so deep and Drew's so fresh, can the pair heal from their painful wounds or will they be pulled beneath the darkness of their pasts?

Pulled Beneath is one of those books that require a lot of emotional input from the author into the book to make the book a good read. And to make a book a great read, the author has to invest the depth of their soul to really make their readers experience the events.

This book definitely brings it’s a-game as the author tells the story of a girl in between stages of grief after the death of her parents. Then a curve-ball is thrown when she inherits her grandparents’ estate and finds out that they only died recently and not before she was born. This book definitely has some surprises that popped up periodically throughout the book and continued to startle me.

First view of Drew and it’s easily realized that she is going through a deep rooted painful period in her life. As events start to unfold I really got a look into her thought process and how she tries to deal with the daily agony that she experiences after her parent’s deaths. Drew’s emotions usually came in short episodes where anything could be damaged…even a coffee maker.

First introductions to Saint were pretty amazing. He comes across as this hot down-to-earth guy and send Drew’s pulse fluttering. Then as people warn Drew against him because of his player status, it was funny to compare his “Saintly” nickname against his not-so-saintly reputation. I loved the tattoos that the author describes him with because it takes his bad-boy image to another level and adds in a touch of tortured soul that every girl loves to read about.

I really loved how the author ended this book on a positive note with Drew looking forward to her future and not stuck in past guilt. Without giving away too much, the last scene of the book was amazing in the fact that Drew is able to realize her feelings and come to terms with them, which she hasn’t been able to do previously.
