Tour: A Little Faith ~ Emma James

“You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.”
~ Bob Marley

Faith was nearly fifteen when her life was torn apart, she sheltered herself from knowing anything about that fateful day.

Six years later she is older and stronger and has decided to confront this sexy brotherhood of hot men she ignored for her own survival.

Harley, Keanu, Text, Levi and Retro will reveal to Faith all is not what it seems and she will discover the level of strength these friends possess.

Text won't talk. The burden of guilt he carries around is too heavy. Faith will uncover the secrets they have all been shielding from her in humorous and emotional ways.

Faith isn’t going back to Dallas in a hurry, not until she can help those that need her the most and Text will need her, it just might take a little longer for him to realize this.

This is a story of new beginnings, a strong brotherhood of sexy guys and a love that has been lost along the way. It is a story with twists and surprises that will tug at your heart as well as make you laugh.

Humor is a weapon that can only last so long until life peels the layers back and what is underneath and hurting shows through.

Faith wasn’t there for them when they needed her, but she damn well will make sure she is now.

Welcome to Ocean Beach.

Sometimes you just have to have A Little Faith.

Review

&&&

I really liked the concept of this book. A group of friends goes on a trip together and comes back changed for life. Those they left at home are left to try and pick up the pieces and have their own scars. Reading the synopsis, I thought this book was going to be mostly about Faith and her own experiences with the group and dealing with the grief of losing her brother. But really this book is more focused on the group through Faith's point of view. For the most part, the book is from Faith's perspective but it does flash to the other friends.

Starting off I had a few problems with A Little Faith. It was a little dry at the beginning and really hard to read through and get interested in the book. There are lots of reminiscing and flashbacks where I felt like these were things that could be explained by the characters. After a couple chapters, the book does pick up speed and start to get really interesting but I still felt like the characters were almost wishy-washy. For example, at one moment Faith would be remarking on her crush on one of the friends and then she would go back to being sad about her brother in the next. It just felt a little scattered and the flow was shaky.

Besides this the book was really good. There was definitely a good story line that I got into. The characters were pretty great and I felt their emotions and their hardships. I do have to say that I wished the book was more focused on just one couple instead of the whole group. There were a lot of switching perspectives, but it was still interesting.

I really enjoyed how perfectly imperfect the characters of this book were. There were guys who were physically scarred and those who were mentally scarred. I thought this was one of the most beautiful parts of the book because all too often the characters are too physically perfect to be considered life-like. So kudos!

Overall I got really interested in this book and will be looking to read the next. It was easy to get caught up in the characters and all their personalities and problems! Definitely a good read.

Writing has been a part of her life for many years. Life was getting on and it was time to put her fears aside and do what she does best. It was time to show readers what she was made of, take that leap off the diving board and see where it takes her.

Emma is a creative person at heart. She loves to read as much as write, devouring books into the wee hours of the morning.
