Review

Under the Spotlight is a very light-hearted fun read! Angie Stanton has really mastered being a writer and giving all of her characters unique personalities that fit their situation. I've been a fan of Stanton's book since the first Jamieson book and this book didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed this book of the series because this book focuses on a brother I didn't really like in the other books. He was kind of the controversial figure that took the brunt of frustrations. Yet there is a different side in this book that will take you completely by surprise. Anyways, I loved the whole story and think this is a great addition to the series.

Riley was an impressive character. I loved how she was so strong and didn't put up with Garrett crap. He kind of doesn't realize how to treat others and this works against him when it comes to Riley. Riley is the girl who is determined to make up for past mistakes and wants to work toward a future in the music business. Riley is this determined, let no one get in her way kind of gal. And that's exactly what Garrett does. Under skin and in her head. Garrett offers her a proposal.

(Not that kind lol)

Starting the book off, Garrett is a major douche. And I mean that in the nicest way ;). But he really is. He is all pissed off at his family for breaking up the band and that anger is just living right below the surface and bubbling up. He also is kind of high-handed. Meaning that he thinks he's the shit and thinks everyone else already knows it. Of course this whole personality clashes with Riley and leads them to get into many battles.

Overall this book was a really good read. The characters are super funny and I loved their relationship! I would definitely recommend this series to anyone looking for a good read and this book to a reader of the series.

Angie Stanton Bio

Angies-Professional-Head-Shots-003-e1378407382251Angie Stanton never planned on writing books—she wanted to be a Rockette. However, growing up in rural America with her brothers’ 4-H pigs as pets, she found that dance didn’t quite work out. Instead, she became an avid daydreamer. After years of perfecting stories in her head, she began to write them down, and the rest is history. When not writing, she loves watching natural disaster movies, going to Broadway musicals, and dipping French fries in chocolate shakes.
