Eighty seven billion dollars.
One dead New York business mogul.
No heirs.
No wives.
No relatives.
Eighty seven billion dollars.
Not hers yet.
He doesn’t deserve them.
He doesn’t know what to do with them.
She does.
She always has.
Eighty seven billion dollars.
He’s overwhelmed.
She’s prepared.
That will should have had her name.
Not his.
Eighty seven billion dollars.
His looks are a bonus.
Her looks are her weapon.
He’s fighting a losing battle against his heart.
He doesn’t know it yet.
Eighty seven billion dollars.
She gets everything she wants.
He’s what she wants.
Love has nothing to do with it.
To get to where you’re going, sometimes you need to step on a few people to get there.
Good thing her heels are sharp.

Review
Beautiful Little Fool is an insanely insane book! (That probably makes no sense if you haven't read it yet...) Going into this book I was kind of hoping for one of those "Wow I didn't know I could love someone until I met you! So sorry for trying to trick you... I've truly changed..." kind of books. Yah, totally not what this book is about.
Beautiful Little Fool is a cruel and intensely beautiful story that holds no punches and left me completely astounded by the last sentence. Truly, I was woefully unprepared for this book and what it's truly about.
First off, this book was beautifully written (well at least as beautiful as it could be for being written about such a weird and disgusting situation). The author did an amazing job of keeping me in suspense and unsuspecting to what is truly going on with not only the characters, but also the plot. What I thought was a simple plot and basic characters ended up being a book full of small backstories that lead to this book full of betrayals and scary rich people (no joke, I'm re-thinking my "How to Become Rich" plan because of this book). So cheers for a book that twists you up and spits you out and leaves you utterly confused on how things could've escalated so quickly.
So, onto the characters...
Cedar at first glance is the usual power hungry rich girl looking to have even more money and more status. Yah she was manipulative and a Grade A b*tch but couldn't she change? Wasn't this a story about a change in character and a realization of what's truly important? Not money but love?
Yah no. This story was definitely not what I was expecting. Cedar is manipulative and heartless and she just gets worse as the book goes on. I really underestimated her throughout the book and everyone did the same. I'm actually really impressed with K.K. Hendin's ability to make a main character so vicious. Cedar did everything in her power to make sure she got that 87 billion dollars.
Ellis, on the other hand, is who I thought would be the hero of the story. Yet instead he was blinded by the money, responsibility and, of course, Cedar. This is definitely not the usual romance story or even rags-to-riches book. Instead of being strong and insusceptible to trickery, Ellis is the exact opposite. He's a weak character and is presented as a fool who is way over his head.
This book really reminded me of the Great Gatsby as their was no truly redeemable characters. Of the main characters, Ellis was far too weak and Cedar far to evil. This book really took me out of my comfort zone which made me love it and hate it.
I was actually really into this book until I got to the ending. I felt like the book ended on too much of a almost paranormal spot and it just made the story feel a little too fake. I could understand it if the characters were born the way they are, but then it's thrown in that Cedar is this whole other thing... I don't know...
I am interested to see if there will be another book after Beautiful Little Fool. This is definitely the book for those who aren't interested in the usual story and want something that is more thrilling and breathtaking (and not in a good way). ;)
